Major League Baseball payed tribute to a classic baseball movie titled "Field of Dreams", on August 12th, 2021 by creating the "Field of Dreams Game".

It was a successful event, with great competition from the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.

The Yankees and White Sox brought scenes from the movie to life, with an introduction to the game of actor Kevin Costner and players on both teams walking through the cornfield and onto the diamond.

The Field of Dreams game returns to Dyersville, Iowa, in a newly built field that was constructed for the 2021 Field of Dreams game. The field will be used for this year's game as well, and future Field of Dreams games.

The Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds will face off on Thursday August 11th, 2022 (today, when this is posted).

With that said, here is everything you need to know about the second Field of Dreams game!

What is the "Field of Dreams"? Spoilers*

The "Field of Dreams" is a movie from 1989, telling the story of a farmer living in Iowa named Ray Kinsella. Ray hears a voice coming from his cornfield telling him, "If you build it, he will come". He gets a vision of a baseball field neighboring his cornfield, and is struck with inspiration to build a baseball diamond.

Later, the ghosts of some of baseball's greatest players (such as "Shoeless" Joe Jackson) emerge from the tall cornfield and onto Ray's baseball field to play ball.

In the end, Ray comes to learn that the Field of Dreams is much more important than just bringing past baseball legends to play. He sees the ghost of his father. In a heartwarming scene, he plays catch with his father before the game begins.

Cornfield Entrance

It is said that the players from the Chicago Cubs and the Cincinnati Reds will enter the field like last year, replicating the way the players did in the movie.

Mic'd Up Experiences

Cincinnati Reds first baseman Joey Votto and Chicago Cubs outfielder Ian Happ will be Mic'd up for the game, joining the FOX broadcast from the field.

Where to Watch

The game is set to begin at 7P.M.(ET), on Thursday August 11th. It will stream on Fox and the Fox Sports App.

Throwback Uniforms

The Cubs will be wearing a slightly altered version of their late 1920s home uniforms, and pairing it with the caps they wore in 1914.

The Reds will be wearing the striped uniforms worn in 1919 when they won the World Series against the White Sox.
